Back Update

Well I saw the doctor yesterday who told me I can't work until I have an MRI to see how bad of damage I did to my back, which sucks since I was supposed to work today and when I mentioned next Tuesday which was my next work day she said absolutely not tomorrow and I don't even think you will get to work next week :-( I love my job and hate to miss work since it causes a hardship on others..

But on another note I have had to continue to take pain pills (which I absolutely hate) and muscle relaxers and I know I can't work while taking both of those and if I don't take them the back aches really bad.

Tomorrow is pay day and I'll pay all the bills and put money in savings because although I'll get L&I I never know how long it takes for that to start up and I don't want to not be able to pay any of my bills.

On the down side that means NO trying to do anything on my bucket list and it's supposed to be nice this weekend :-(   but I'd rather have my back not hurt then risk hurting it again.

Back Problems

Well I hurt my back at work first thing Saturday morning, worked  2 1/2 more hours then spent the rest of the day in the emergency room. While I have never had back problems before I now realise that nothing on this earth hurts worse then back pain.

They got me better and I walked out on my own..

Only to return the next morning having spasms and pain so bad I wanted to die, every time I breathed it hurt so bad, they did a CT scan and gave me an injection (Non-narcotic as I dislike narcotics) and after about 2 hours I felt alot better.

And again I walked out on my own..

They started me on a Medrol dose pack, which is basically tapering steroid, changed my pain pills to something else and....

Today I can at least walk, now don't ask me to bend over, pick anything up or stand for too long as I start to get spasms again when I do those things, so unfortunately I had to call in for tomorrow as I have a doctor appt to follow up with and we'll see about Wednesday, I doubt I can work since I'm taking oxycodone and flexeril which both make you impaired and very, very sleepy but I'll see what the MD says.

On a sad note, that means NO doing anything this weekend since it kills me to walk around for too long but on a good note at least we'll be saving money.

Not much going on here

Well since it's pouring buckets finally.. it's been a very dry winter for us so far and that is never good during the summer months in this state since it usually leads to very bad wild fires.. we have done nothing, nothing at all.

Both of us work this weekend and we both have next weekend off. I'm hoping for either a hike or snowshoe event next weekend depending on the weather..

The other days I'm off I plan on doing some more organization of my kitchen and living room, most likely I won't be able to do both in my 5 days off but I'd like to get a majority started. I need to do a pantry and freezer inventory list and order more chicken from the place we get it from since I know we are low and you can't beat their prices on boneless, skinless chicken breasts, of which we eat alot of..

I have started a new binder system to help keep our family organized and just need to add a few more things for it to be done.

I'm feeling rather sleepy so off to take a nap I go.

Update

Well we didn't get to go to the beach Friday as someone decided to shatter the window in our car either the night before or the day before so we spent most of the day with the police, insurance and having the window replaced in our car, which they kept for the entire weekend, thus making it impossible for us to drive to the beach.. DH worked that night and needed our other vehicle.

So......I guess I'll just mail our tax stuff to her as I don't have any available time to go there for the next 2 weeks..

On the home front I've been madly redoing the kitchen and went to Ikea and bought an Expedit bookcase for my craft room as I have way to much fabric just laying around. I raised the idea of redoing the master bedroom downstairs (we don't use that one) as our office and letting me use the office as my craft room as it has 4 large windows in it and lots and lots of light.. sure hope he comes around to my thinking..

I've also been organizing the pantry since we went to Ikea I bought some new baskets to put food stuff in..

The weather has been hit and miss and we don't have another day off together until the first weekend in March so no hiking,snowshoeing or traveling until at least then and hopefully the weather will cooperate at least one of those days..

Coastal Loving

Today DS-Y and I are driving to the coast, it's about a 2 hour drive and supposedly the weather is going to be partly cloudy, well all I'm going to hope for is No Pouring Rain!! It will only be a short trip but maybe I can convince myself I need to stay overnight..

Airline Love..... NOT!!!!

Nothing like stupidity to make your day.. Today I got to send another lovely email to United Airlines proving to them, YES we were supposed to be on the flight YOU cancelled us on. YES Expedia still had us on that flight. NO it wasn't MY fault NOR Expedia's fault YOU cancelled my reservations. Yes I have bent over backwards for the past almost 2 months proving to you we had reservations and YES I freaking want my pay that YOUR company made me lose because YOU cancelled our reservations and YES I want all my airline fee's REIMBURSED since YOU have screwed with my family for over 2 months now.

I didn't have this much trouble when we had issues with Southwest 2 years ago, my goodness SW sent us 4-$100 dollar vouchers and it wasn't even that much of a big deal compared to United's screw up. Makes me know I"ll NEVER, EVER, EVER fly United again unless I have FREE airline vouchers and then I'll use them up and Never, ever fly United again..

Alaska, who screwed up also has already sent us 3-$100 vouchers.. Wonder why United is so bloody stupid and has such a very, very, very POOR customer service department..

working and surgery

I've been working like crazy and will be until Thursday..

My mom is having knee surgery on Wednesday so from Thursday on she will be staying with us. It's alot easier since our Master is on the first floor and it's easily accessed by her, not sure how long she'll be staying after her surgery but she thinks about 3-4 days.

DH works from Thursday on so we have nothing planned other than taking our taxes in to our accountant to have them done.

I'm also doing my older children's taxes since they don't know how to..

Odds and Ends

Today is my Friday at work although I do work Friday also but I'm off the weekend and so is DH!

Our plan is to go to the RV show and check out the new RVs for sale we plan eventually to get an RV and travel more on the weekends, since our youngest is still in school we can't travel during the week or we would.

Saturday is DH and Brother in law's birthdays I'm not sure if they plan to come over or not. I have already gotten and given DH his birthday present, something for his saltwater tank. And I plan to go out to dinner on his birthday since that is usually what we do.

Nothing other then that is planned at our house...

Hiking

We hiked Hoyt arboretum yesterday and the weather was perfect!

DH had to stop by a new aquarium store before we left of course. He can't go anywhere with stopping at one or two!

We ate at a great place in the middle of Portland and we loved the area a lot, lots to do and nice houses mixed in.

Super Bowl today!!
