Happy New Year, May this year bless everyone families...
We are continuing to plow through our debt while trying to enjoy our days off together.
Husby has a new job he has applied for and so far they have asked him to come in for a typing test and with any luck an interview to follow!
We still only have a few days off together a month due to his current job, but we try to make the most of them when they do happen.
The weather has made hiking nearly impossible since it can't decide whether to snow, rain, be sunny or all of the three in one day...
We are currently working on paying off our chase card which has $7426.27 left on it.
But we are also trying to save money in our sinking funds, when the total gets to $1000.00 not counting our BEF I think I'm going to talk to husby about putting it into debt unless we have to use some of it then going back to funding our sinking funds until its back up to $1000 again. We'd really, really like to get that card paid off this year and it won't happen unless we buckle down more then we are now..
Well that's all for our end of the year comments and updates.

Total 2016 Debt Paid Off
We have paid off a total of $12,349.73 of Debt in 2016!!!
So Excited to have this much gone. I sure hope we can continue on this path.
I'm hoping the weather will cooperate and allow me to take some more hikes but so
far every day its nice enough I have to work.
We did have a minor issue here as our furnace motor died while it was 20 degrees outside and it took the furnace man about a week of coming over to figure out what was wrong with it.
Now it works like a charm, keeps us nice and toasty and when it's 20 degrees I don't fret!
I have been trying to pick up some overtime, at least once per pay period just for extra to savings and debt. Since we still aren't sure about DH job we are continuing to put money into savings.
It's off to work I go..

Paid down
So far this year we have paid off 2 debts totaling $6468.80 and have paid down our next debt by $327 so far this month. We have been saving money instead of putting most of it towards debt as we are not sure how DH new job will be.
We have tried to put some extra to debt and save at the same time, We figured if his job continues as good as it has been we will just put a large chunk down at the end of next summer.
It's been snowing and raining off and on here lately so I'm sure out gas bill will be more then usual, even my pets don't want to stay outside it's been so bad..

Hanging in there!
So I'm back from Vegas and we have been plugging along with our Debt.
But!!
We also need new tires for our car sooner rather then later so that's next on our list.
Christmas is mostly bought and paid for with CASH!
Our heater motor went out and we are waiting for the heater company to come repair it at this moment. (No idea how much that will cost.)
Yes, we do have $1000 in our Emergency fund so we are good to go regarding pay6ing for the repairs, and IF they are more then we have, we do have alternative heat options and we can wait until we save up to pay for the repairs.
I did buy myself an Instant Pot for Christmas and I can't wait to get it and use it.
Other then that the weather is raining as usual but it's been warmer then normal which was nice until our alternative heat source got up an running since we all didn't freeze to death while it was out.
Not much of an update I'll do the bar update towards the end of this month since it's December and the end of the year.
Have a great Christmas and New Year.!!!

Vegas Booked
I booked my trip to Vegas I only had to spend money to fly there the people I'm going to meet used airline miles and booked our room.
I do plan to give them some money for the room since that would only be fair.
I have tentatively made up our October, November and December budgets, with the hopes to have all the money we need for new tires by the end of December (it's a 3 paycheck month.)
I am thinking about starting to save to have new flooring put down beginning in January because I would like to replace all the flooring with laminate since we are thinking about either selling our house or using it for a rental.
We have been looking at Motor homes and Travel Trailers for a couple of months now and I'm still leaning towards a motor home and a used on at that.

Changed it up
I took down the Discover tab on the right side and replaced it with our Chase Debt as this is the next one we will be starting on come October. We might have to use one of DH checks for Debt and one for saving for new tires until we have $1500.00 for our new tires. We know we will need tires soon.
I have a girls weekend in Vegas coming up I still have to book, I hope to have this done by November 1st. I don't plan on taking much money with me just to eat I think it will depend on how much I can save between now and then.

It's a DONE DEAL!!
Today I transferred money from our car SF and paid off Discover. I worked OT and DH Check will be coming next week. I still have over $2,000 in SF money with only $600 of it being actually accounted for.
I'm afraid to have less then 2k in savings in case something happens, I know we will need new tires by next summer so after we pay off the next one which is Dell, and if everything goes good should be paid off on the 23rd of this month.
THEN, we only have 2 left and although they are biggies since we will have 1k to put on them it shouldn't take long at all to pay them off.
My Debt Free date is December 2018 and I hope to have it paid off earlier then that, honestly I'm aiming for July 2017 we've been blasting away at it for a year now and can't wait to be debt free.
We do have plans to move next summer but we haven't completely finalized them yet.

Set Backs
We planned on paying off Discover at the end of this month and instead we had to..
1. Have the brakes replaced on our car.. guess after 11 years it's time.
2. Fix the faucet in the kitchen because all it does is run even when it is turned all the way off... Going for the cheapest faucet here since we plan to sell our house within the next year or two.
Sooo that means that we will have to see if we can still pay off Discover by the end of this month.
I'm going to try to see if I can get any overtime in at work between now and the end of the month and that should help a lot..

Getting there
We have $676.69 left to pay on the discover card!! I can see the end in sight, now if only our vehicles can hold up until we get it paid off then we might have to stop for abit and fix two yes two cars.
My car the lights are blinking dim and bright I'm not sure what's up so that will need to be looked at and the truck has some leaking lines, as told to me by the people who changed my oil last week, so I'll need to have that looked at also.
It's on my to do list for next week!
I applied for a new job and my hubby applied for a new job.
We won't hear back from those for a week or so..

Plugging along
We are plugging along with Discover we had some ups and downs this month so far. My DH got a new job that required new shoes and new clothing so we didn't get to pay as much to debt but we also didn't have to add to debt.
We are hoping to have discover paid off by September 6th but it may not be until September 19th depending on what happens with the start of school in two weeks.
We used all our clothing Sinking fund to buy new clothes for our youngest son and had $12 dollars left over from that! BONUS!!
We are going to have to get new tires on our car we are hoping to last until early next year as we only have $1,000 in that account and will need closer to $1400.
The next Debt on our list is Dell which is No interest until April 2017 so we want that paid off by December. I'll put it on the ticker when Discover is done.

Paid down
We paid another $350 dollars to our Discover card, this leaves a balance of about $1350 dollars left and this should be paid off next month.
Then we are on to the next one on our list which is a zero interest card that needs to be paid off by April 2017 but that we plan to have paid off by October 31st.

Random Thoughts
DH job is plugging along we don't get his first full paycheck until August the 5th, so I can't plan how much we are sending to credit cards until he gets it, I have noticed some weeks he only works 9 days instead of 10, so I'm not sure whether he will pick up a day or just eat the lost day. I'm hoping he will get into a routine of 4 on 2 off so I can plan my days off around his, right now it's not a problem since I have vacation right now and again at the end of August.
I have set up quicken again to see if we can figure out how to make all our payments and now go overboard so much. I told DH we spent way too much and shouldn't be having issues with having extra money not being in the bank.
Finally the weather has been nice and we have been outside working on our yard and I can honestly say it's about time and thank goodness since it looks so much better now.

Thoughts
We are continuing to do a dent in our debt. DH has not had a first paycheck from his new job yet and we don't expect one until August 5.
We have done absolutely nothing the entire month of June nor July, as the weather has been cloudy, cold and rainy, and factoring in I've been sick for over 12 days hasn't helped at all. I've been to the doctor twice and hopefully this last round of medicine will help me finally feel better.
I had such high hopes for the summer and doing things but as usual the weather is so uncooperative.

What's happening in our neck of the woods!
So much has happened in the past month. DH got a job after classes were done. This doesn't start until July 13th but we're okay with that.
We have slowly been paying off our first debt and we are over 50% done with this one.
I picked up one extra day at work and although I could do more, I've been trying to stay home more since DH goes to work Full time soon.
I also have a big LONG list of stuff to do around the house and plan on working on that while DH is at work.
Nothing else to add I think so I'll

Nothing Really Happening!
Whelp!! as you can see nothing is really happening here at this time, DH is working on finishing his classes for this semester and will be getting a J O B :-)
I have paid mostly minimum payments to all our debts with the exception of the smallest one that we are trying to pay off, but I have only paid about 20 dollars extra to that one. I look at it this way, "small baby steps, small baby steps."
We still plan to move, although my DS-Y wants us to stay until he gets out of school, although this could and does change on a daily basis.
I want to be CC debt free before we move and we will still need to work on our house to get it ready for sale or rental prior to moving so in all honesty it might take us that long to accomplish all of this.
So, on that note, we will continue to plug along and see how it goes.

Paid Down
We paid down the Discover card another $1000 yesterday and that only leaves us with approx. $1900 left!
As soon as I get the final bills for hubby's ED visit and make sure insurance pays there portion, I'll pay off the Discover card and move on to the next one..
Other then that nothing really going on here right now, the weather has been beautiful the past few days and I sure hope it stays this way for awhile longer..

Paid Down
We have had an interesting month here at the Wild Irish Wanderer House. We had to call a plumber to fix out clogged drains, a plumber to fix out broken washing machine faucet and still managed to pay down $1070.00 to our Discover Card!!!
We also had an impromptu visit to the ED for Hubby, yes he's fine now..
I plan to pay off the Discover Card within the next week, then we will be down to 2 Credit Cards, a Car Loan and our Mortgage.!!!
Wish us luck!!

Slowing Down Abit
Well we have decided to slow down the rapid debt repayment while hubby is taking some college classes, so far we have paid for them all out of pocket and would like to continue with this if possible.
We have paid down some more debt and are paying about $15.00 extra to our lowest debt at the moment while saving for other things.

Springish
Its Springish where we live, which means yea we finally have some sun interspersed with hail, rain and fog. It also means it's not freezing during the day although at night it does freeze.
On another note, we have not had time to hike or explore at all as my hubby started new classes recently.
On the Debt pay down front, we have paid off nearly $2000.00 since January and hope to pay down more after our taxes are completed.

Update
Nothing really going on around here right now, well, other then the sugar ants are out in force and its time to call the pest people. Surprising considering its only March, but what can one do..
We continue to pay down stuff and hope that the weather changes so we can work on some of our local bucket list, wind and pouring rain just don't make me want to do much other then hunker down and drink hot chocolate.
Here's to next week!!
My new job is great, so far I'm loving it!

Sick people and animals
Half of our household has been sick the past week, and now one of our animals is very sick, we took him to the vet and he has a kidney infection. We have to give him antibiotics and Intravenous fluids until Monday then we have to call the vet back and tell her how he is doing. So far it doesn't seem to be working much, he's still lethargic and not wanting to eat at all. Hopefully today's antibiotics and Intravenous fluids help.
I start my new job this week and I'm very excited and concerned at the same time. Less money but less working so hopefully it will work out..

Tax Return
We got our tax return direct deposited the other day and while I would have loved to add it to the debt, we instead put it in savings for our sinking funds. We now have fully funded sinking funds.
On another note I only worked half my regular schedule this past pay period so I know my check will be small. I did save money from my last paycheck because I knew this was going to happen.
The weather is finally starting to be nice and I told my husband I wanted to go camping again so we are thinking about that for spring break, I just hope the weather holds up at that time.
I applied for a different job and although I have worked at my place of employment along time I'm not sure If I would get it over someone else who might be more qualified but I'm waiting and hoping..

Debt
I have added a Debt Tracker to the side bar, although this is not all of our debt, it is the first one we plan to pay off with any extra money. When I start my new job that may not be much but I hope to put as much as we can towards it.
On another note we have decided to move to another state, again this will not be for about 15-18 months, we have money in savings for this move, now we just need to decide where we plan to move to. I have already told my hubby I don't care as long as we have sunshine for at least 6-8 months out of the year.
Now we just need to finalize what we plan to do with out house, sell it or rent it out. I'd prefer to use a property management company and rent it out, I told hubby we need to redo the floors and that should be good for renting it out..

What we are up to....
So we are still purging stuff, just have slowed down some what. All my son's clothing has been gone thru and most of it is being donated to a friend.
I still need to call the donation center and arrange for stuff to be picked up.
I still have 3 more rooms to go thru but probably will wait for a couple more weeks.
I start my new job next month and I'm looking forward to working less days a week.
Weather hasn't been good enough here to do much outdoor work or fun..
Guess that's it for now.

Around the house
I was able to get a lot done around the house during my time off, I purged my husband and myself clothing, we went thru ever item in our kitchen, living room and dining room and got rid of all duplicates. We have all kinds of items to be picked up for donation at this time. I called them and they aren't able to pick it up until the end of February.
I have just found out I'm going to be working only a 4 day week starting next month. I'm very happy about this although some people might not be. I know it will make it harder to pay stuff off but my health is important also.
As for paying off stuff I paid an extra $260.00 in January so far.

New Year, Same Goals
Happy 2016!
Last year we paid of over $9,000 in debt and we hope to continue with this momentum for 2016..
We still have a few lofty goals, besides paying stuff off that is.
I have some time off coming up and hope to finish a few projects around the house and take a small trip out of town for a weekend. I'll have to see if my house sitter is available though before we make any plans.
I hope everyone has a great 2016! I know we plan to..
