With today being Payday I paid all our bills and we are ready for our weekend to start.. I know Sunday is out for doing anything since it's Super Bowl Day. But we still have Friday and Saturday to get our groove on. I hope to convince DH to stay over night someplace so we can do something both days but I'm not sure it's feasible since we couldn't leave until after 3 p.m. and that pretty much ruins the whole day..

Rainy Days Ahead
I really want to go hiking but I'll honestly say I don't like to hike in pouring rain, I don't mind drizzle or off/on rain just not pouring rain at 36 degrees it cold for my blood.....
On another front I have told DH if we want to spend more time hiking/snowshoeing we best cut back on other impulse spending, although I will be honest and say I really feel we need a GPS for doing both since I'm terrified of getting lost in the woods in the winter, but I'm so not sure what to get I've been hesitant to get one. Friday is payday and we plan to go hiking on Friday which I'm looking forward to no matter what the weather is I plan to go and take our dogs with us..

Working
Well after a beautiful day yesterday I'm off to work the next two days, I do hear that next week will be nice I hope so I'd love to go hiking. But I do have alot of house maintenance stuff that needs done so we'll see what happens.

Great Day!
Today we went through all our clothing and I was really proud of DH he tossed alot of stuff he has hung onto for no reason other then I might fit into it someday....Not going to happen is what I say!!
Now it's time to be off to the good will and to the dump, unfortunately I don't think that will happen until next time I'm off 5 days in a row again..ie the weekend after this one. I suppose I just plop everything in the garage until it's a day we can go and worry about it later.
I also cleaned and de-gunked our office and finally bought nice things to put supplies in so they aren't just hanging around getting dusty and gray looking, we moved the bow flex and now the room looks so much larger, I do still need to go through about 10 years of old papers and shred them but not sure when I'll do that.
Next up... The Laundry Room... it's my goal to get all the cupboards cleaned out and stuff put in correct places so I can tear out the cabinets and move the washer..
On the home front again.. we've been good about cooking dinner at home almost every night but we are still having trouble with going out for lunch more then once a week.

Saturday
We had an absolutely wonderful time snowshoeing on Saturday! The weather was perfect if not too warm, and sunny, boy was it sunny, unusual for this time of year to be warm and sunny here but I'm sure glad it was.
We have nothing else planned other then work and relaxing for the next week, oh. and maybe some housecleaning since it's supposed to be back to rain and cool. I told DH that it's time to go thru our clothing and toss the I can't wear that.. I don't like that.. And that is waaaaaayyy to small to wear that items... We'll see if he is ready to comply.

Snowshoeing
Today Dh and I are off to snowshoe, It's supposed to be a beautiful clear and cold day. I'm looking forward to taking a few pictures of our trip.

Tread Climber
My Tread Climber is all put together and I have started using it. I'm looking forward to getting my walk on and losing some weight in the process! My goal is 10 lbs by June 1st, let's see if I can get that done...

Beatiful Weather
The weather has been cold and clear for the most part here, and boy am I itching to go out and hike or snowshoe and it looks like this weekend will be a winner to do just that. We have plans to go snowshoeing this Saturday and all I have to do it hope the weather holds up.
If not I guess we go another day since we can go during the weekdays right now as we have DS-O staying with us for a month. I bought a new small compact camera just for hiking and snowshoeing and believe me I can't wait to use it.
I'm feeling under the weather a bit though and hope I'm not getting that stomach virus that is going around to everyone at work since that will make my snowshoe trip a no-go.

United
Well United still hasn't sent us an email regarding our MAJOR issues we had i.e. They canceled our return flight home for some reason! And I had to miss a day of Overtime work because they couldn't get us booked on our regular return flight, it had to be a day later. So if they don't respond by Monday or Thursday of next week I'm taking my complaints to a higher source..
The weather is supposed to be my favorite!! Cold and Clear for the next week I sure hope it stays that way I love, love, love to hike in cold, clear weather and I'd love to go to Mirror Lake or Lena Lake but alas I have no time off until next weekend, and I don't mean tomorrow :-)

Alaska Sorta Came Through
Well Alaska Airlines sorta came through for us. We each got $100 dollar vouchers for our issues we had on our flight to Texas. Too bad it was partly their fault our flight back got cancelled. Now United better come through I'm very upset our flight was cancelled and that I had to miss an entire day of work, which I sure hope they plan on re-reimbursing since god knows I didn't cancel our flight and neither did Expedia since they still had listed as on our flight home.
Things have gone back to normal here, I did work an overtime shift that will give us extra money, which DH wants to use for my birthday coming up. I'd rather save some and go our to Red Lobster with some for my birthday dinner.
I have put money into savings for our summer trip, we have no idea what we will do besides work on our fencing in our yard but I'd like to take a few couple of day trips somewhere and DH does want to go to Three Bears Lodge for a couple of days.
On the spending note.... We bought a Bow flex Tread climber and I couldn't be more excited! It will be here in a week or so and although we have to put it together which DH assures me he can do even if he has to call them to help him. Home (Long)
Home but not without a lot of drama!!
We got to the airport 2 hours early and waited, then 10 minutes before boarding time of there is a delay, maintenance needs to work on something. Then an hour later, we have to fly another part from another city it will be another hour. Then 30 minutes later, oh no we will just rebook you all. So we waiting in line to get re booked and with 3 people it's not as easy to rebook especially when one of them is a child. Soooo
4 hours later we get on an airplane and finally get to where we were headed.
Then we had a great time for 3 days, then the rest of the family showed up and while it was great to see them, every person was extremely sick and coughing even the baby, who of course was up all hours of the day and night. They then proceeded to make everyone in my family sick but me and DS.
So now we can't do anything we had planned since DH was sick as a dog and couldn't breathe and couldn't sleep, and personally he just needed to rest because I didn't want him sick for the return flight.
DS basically spent the vacation on the Xbox, I spent it reading books and shopping for getaway time.
Oh yea, the return trip. Sooo
We get to the airport and oh guess what they don't have our reservation. I said you should I have confirmation number right here, so I pulled out my Ipad, pulled up Expedia and showed him.. Seems when they re booked our flight down here they just decided to CANCEL the rest of the bookings, so no plane ride home. We patiently waited while the wonderful man tried to find us a flight, again no small feat with 3 people one of which is a child. So finally he finds us a flight the next day, BUT not getting into our area until 1 am and then we have a 2 hour drive home, oh did I mention I had to work that day at 6 am, well that wasn't going to happen so I had to call in since we were stuck.
I will be sending our airline a nice email telling them they will be reimbursing me either ALL the money I paid for our flights or for my day of lost wages which by the way is More then the cost of the flight since it happened to be a holiday and I get paid time and a half.
I'm so ready for a vacation from my vacation from hell......
